Acrylic Paintings

My acrylic paintings reflect what I’m interested in during that moment. Exploring fundamental design elements when first exploring acrylic in 2003, I’ve found a genuine interest in painting in nature. There is a quietness I find to be very appealing when I’m sitting in a park or nestled next to a cool creak.

I’ve lived in Nebraska, Texas and Pennsylvania, traveling between them on many occasions. The one thing I’ve noticed is that mother nature possesses an unlimited amount of creative ideas, and she serves up a variety of beautiful work every day, no matter where you might be.

Pen Drawings

I’ve been doodling during a class or meeting for as long as I can remember. It evolved into an art form while living in Pennsylvania at the Himalayan Institute in 2012. Chilly, blue/gray evenings provided a nice setting to sit quietly and focus on making one decision, then the next, over and over. I was hooked!

My pen drawings are all hand drawn with no measurement tools or guidelines. I start in the center and work my way outward to the next element. I work primary work with black ink only, but on occasion, I’ll work in colored ink as well.
