Acrylic Landscape Paintings
& Freehand Pen Mandalas

I am inspired by trees, water and light. One of my favorite paintings, ‘Bubbling Trail’, came about from a chance photograph taken by a friend while she was on a walk on a trail we both lived by. What caught my attention was the memory of the peacefulness I felt moving along that trail. The sound of the stream swirling before spilling down along the trail has remained fresh in my mind. I remember stepping back and forth, criss-crossing the stream, carefully avoiding the spongy moss and lush plant life that dotted the stream’s abundant collection of boulders, rocks and pebbles. Translating this memory onto my canvas is why I paint. The thing I’m always trying to capture is my experience in the moment of the places I visit.

Not only do my ink drawings look nothing like my painted landscapes, I create them in a completely different way. Many days, I’ll head to a local coffee shop to work. The energetic conversations that permeate the shared space become present in my drawings; intersecting lines, overheard coffee orders, repetitive patterns, parental bitch sessions mixed with intermediate white spaces create a place for me to experience being the calm center amidst the ebb and flow of life around me. These bustling spaces, are to me, a perfect place to work quietly.

If you’re curious about my artwork I’d love to talk with you. Drop me an email or hit me up with call. I look forward to hearing from you.
