Water, Wind & Light always deliver!
There are 2 golf disc courses in Mckinney, TX – Alex Clark Memorial and Town Lake. If you’ve ever played disc golf with me, you know I’m no stranger to the water that runs through these two wonderful courses. Yes, my game has improved over the years, but one thing has never changed; my love of the nature I get to enjoy while chasing all my errant shots!
The inspiration for ‘Shimmering Light’ was captured on the 15th hole of Town Lake. When the creek floods, there is a narrow footpath that walks you over the water, barely 3 inches above the surface. On a sunny saturday morning I snapped this shot on my iphone. There was a gentle breeze blowing across the water and the sun was dancing in the wake. A few weeks later, I was busy painting this beautiful gallery wrapped acrylic original. Enjoy!
Tom, Thank you. You can feel the movement and energy in these. Somehow you triggered an old memory for me and I am grateful. Don’t know how you captured this. Kathy
Hi Kathy, so happy to see you enjoyed the post! I still get in the trap of seeing something in nature and thinking I need to reproduce it. My best work comes when I just try to convey what I’m seeing and enjoy the process while I’m doing it. Everything else will work itself out. 🙂
